And then there is N.J. artist Anna Carina Sinocchi's
'Passages' a series of abstract wall hangings made by combining photographic emulsions, oils and acrylics painted on silk or muslin. They're like a mashup of Japanese cottons and the Byzantine embroidery you see in museums, haunting hints at fragmentary ruin. But grand, and deeply colored like a stain. Or a bruise. ~ Dan Bischoff
